Hi Folks
I have a UK American Express Platinum Card which covers collision damage waiver on hire cars worldwide. when I search a lot of hire companies websites they quote with cdw, especially in Europe.
Any suggestions of companies that do not charge the cdw.
Thasnks
David

Both of the programs that I am in (Hertz & Avis) ask you to opt in or out of all the optional rental benefits (CDW included).
When I rented a car from Thrirfy 2 days ago (in Australia), their website allowed me to select/deselect which options I wanted.
Perhaps for the average renter, most companies include it...therefore, maybe you need to join one or a couple of programs in order to be able to customise your preferences.

every company i've ever rented from allows opt-out of the various expensive add ons. Nowadays, when i say i'm covered with my regular auto insurance, they ask me what my deductible is to be sure i know if it total the car i'll be responsible for the deductible.
but you shouldn't have to pay the extras at all.
