FrequentFlier Forum Topics

As always, there's plenty of activity on the Forum...

Eric raises the perennial question: Where are the award seats? Pete bought tickets for his relatives and wonders whether he can have the miles credited to his account. Ralph is hungry for information re Continental's dining-for-miles program. Indo-angler wants to earn miles for an award ticket (don't we all!). And Scott has a "United dilemma."

Do you have questions? Do you have answers? Post them to the Forum!

New Addition: PlanetFeedback
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
We've added a new feedback feature to the FrequentFlier.com website.

The new functionality, offered in conjunction with PlanetFeedback, allows you to choose a feedback type (Compliment, Complaint, Question, Suggestion), specify a company to receive the feedback, and have a letter auto-created and sent to the target company.

I personally tested the PlanetFeedback system, using it to communicate my displeasure with a meal served on a recent transcon flight. I don't know if the airline in question will take the offending (and offensive) calzone off their inflight menu, but I do know the message was received because they responded and assured me that they'd consider my input. And, perhaps equally important, my comments are now part of a larger database of consumer feedback.

You'll find the feedback form on the FrequentFlier.com homepage, in the right-hand column. Give it a try!

US Air Highlights Available Award Flights
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
US Airways now offers Dividend Miles members an online list of destinations that have the most seats available for award travel. The list will be updated weekly, and can be found on the airline's homepage in the Dividend Miles section.

A quick check shows that for the January 9 - 31 period, you'd have a good chance of booking award seats to Paris, Dallas, Atlanta, Denver, San Diego, San Francisco and Montreal.

We reported on the newly launched Miles4Sale.com earlier this week in the special holiday issue of The Crier. What we didn't mention was the sweepstakes currently underway on the Miles4Sale site.

Everyone who signs up on the Miles4Sale website by December 31 will be entered in a random drawing to win a 2001 Jaguar S-Type. It's not necessary to make a purchase to enter. The sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States (including the District of Columbia), 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

9-Letter Word for Puzzle
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I'm exercising my editorial prerogative this week to recommend a website that has no relationship whatever to travel.

During these seemingly interminable weeks of post-vote election wrangling, I signed up for a daily New York Times e-mail with breaking election news. As an aside (perhaps an antidote) to the political coverage, the newsletter included a link to the paper's crossword puzzle. Suffice it to say that for the past few weeks, I have made the daily puzzle part of my workday, starting it in the morning and returning to it throughout the day and into the evening. Occasionally, I even finish it!
