New promotions from Southwest and AirTran are a throwback to the days when airlines would offer bonus miles for every flight in every class of service.
And that’s a good thing.
Between September 13 and November 15, Rapid Rewards members will earn double points for every Southwest flight. That’s six bonus points per dollar spent on Wanna Get Away fares, ten bonus points per dollar spent on Anytime fares, and 12 bonus points per dollar spent on Business Select fares.
There’s a parallel promotion in place from Southwest’s subsidiary, AirTran: double A+ credits for domestic AirTran flights and triple credits for international, between September 13 and November 14. Bookings must be made at airtran.com to qualify for the bonus.
Registration is required for both offers.
Deal or No Deal
Double or triple points. For every flight. In every class of service. For two full months.
In both size and scope, these are very attractive promotions. They’re definitely worth factoring in to your travel planning.
