They’ve saved the best offer for last.
Between September 17 and October 31, Dividend Miles members will earn double base miles for all US Airways flights booked with a MasterCard for travel by December 31. They’ll earn double elite-qualifying miles if the flights are charged to a Dividend Miles MasterCard.
Qualifying tickets must be booked on usairways.com.
Registration is required, by October 31.
Deal or No Deal
As I had occasion to mention just last week in connection with a Southwest/AirTran promotion, systemwide double-mile promotions are few and far between, having been largely replaced by route-specific bonuses. So this offer is a welcome throwback.
The MasterCard requirement narrows the eligibility of the promotion, but only marginally. Most travelers have several credit cards in their wallets, at least one of which sports the MasterCard logo.
It might even be worthwhile getting a Dividend Miles MasterCard if you’re within striking distance of elite status
Either way, double miles on all routes for the rest of the year make for a pretty compelling proposition.
