Enterprise Rent-A-Car is among the most consistently popular rental-car companies. In its 2013 customer satisfaction study, J.D. Power ranked Enterprise second, behind National. (Both are owned by Enterprise Holdings, which also owns Alamo.)
Unlike the other major car renters, which focus on airport locations, Enterprise is known for its expansive network of neighborhood locations, catering to the rental needs of local residents rather than the needs of business or vacation travelers.
What the company hasn’t been known for is much in the way of loyalty-program participation. In fact, until this month, Enterprise did not award miles in a single airline program.
That changed with this week’s publication of Delta’s new roster of rental-car partners and earning rates. SkyMiles members can now earn 500 miles for qualifying Enterprise rentals in the U.S. and Canada.
In addition to the standard 500-miles-per-rental rate, there’s a 200-miles-per-day bonus currently on offer. (There’s no published end date to the promotion, so it could be terminated at any time.)
To earn Delta miles, Enterprise rentals must be booked here.
Bottom line: Mile collectors can finally rack up miles for Enterprise rentals. Although it’s only Delta miles so far, it’s likely that Enterprise will extend its participation to other airline programs as well.
