Need a quick and easy 500 American AAdvantage miles?

It’s a two-step process:

The promotion is designed to encourage AAdvantage members to sign up for eShopping, and in particular to take advantage of miles when making purchases at participating merchants’ offline stores.

And really, those are both things AAdvantage members (and members of any program that features its own mileage mall, for that matter) should be doing as a matter of course.

The subject of shopping miles pops up regularly in the run-up to Cyber Monday and Christmas, for obvious reasons. But for anyone who’s even moderately serious about earning frequent flyer miles, it should be an everyday focus.

Earning miles through purchases at mileage malls, and increasingly at physical outlets as well, is a reliable way for the average consumer to add several thousand miles to his account balance every year.

And if you’re not earning miles when shopping at retailers that award them, you’re not getting full value for your hard-earned dollars.
